And the Fashion Oscars Go To...

One of the best parts of Oscar night is the pre-game: hours of red carpet and fashion coverage on E!

Good thing, because I can rarely stay awake for the hours-long telecast to catch the Best Picture award live.

A few of my faves from last night.

Hailee Steinfeld's floral is just so pretty.

Taraji P. Henson looks like a movie star in this purple velvet Alberta Ferretti.

I could never wear this gorgeous gold gown, but it was made for Jessica Biel.

Viola Davis is the lady in red in this silk Armani Privé.

Kirsten Dunst - so elegant in this black Dior.

Love the midnight blue beading on Laura Dern's Rodarte.

Still haven't seen "La La Land," but Emma Stone looks lovely in this fringed Givenchy.

Brie Larson is a picture of elegance in this velvet Oscar de la Renta.

Who were your favorites?

And the Oscar Should Go To...

...Natalie Portman.

I have not yet seen all of the movies up for awards this season.  Hey - the Oscar nominations are not even out yet. But my vote for Best Actress - if I had one - would absolutely to go Natalie Portman for her portrayal of Jacqueline Kennedy in "Jackie."

Her portrayal was hauntingly real - from Jackie's mannerisms to that whispery soft voice.

Scott and I saw the film last week, and it's fair to say he went because I wanted go. We even saw it in one of our neighborhood theatres with those big, comfy recliners - just in case a nap was in order. But he surprisingly liked it, declaring it "excellent" as the lights came up.

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

What are your favorite films of the award season?  What should I see - and what should be skipped?
