The Eyes Have It

I had to get eyeglasses when I was in the fourth grade. Needless to say, I was not thrilled with the idea.  The style choices were limited, especially for an eight-year-old who didn't want to look different from all of my friends.

Wow - how times have changed.  I now know people - elementary and junior high girls included - who love wearing glasses, even if they don't need a prescription!

With so many styles - and vibrant colors ranging from fuchsia to teal to cherry red - glasses are an easy way to update any look.  Plus - they are easy to store and take up very little space.

Today, I showed a fabulous array of frames for awear CHARMANT on the "Daytime" show.  They use materials and production processes that are environmentally-friendly and sustainable, so not only do you look great, but you can feel good about wearing their frames!

Choosing frames based on your face shape can go a long way toward enhancing your appearance, playing up your favorite features while minimizing others:

A round face will appear longer and thinner with angular, narrow frames.

Style 3706

Maintain the balance of an oval face with frames that are as wide as the broadest part of the face.

Style 3709

Balance the width at the top of a heart-shaped face with frames that are wide at the bottom.

Style 3710

Round or narrow oval frames help lengthen and soften the edges of a square face.

A few decades after getting those wire-rimmed glasses in elementary school, I only need to wear my (new! with midnight blue frames!) glasses when my contact lenses get annoying.  But now it's a joy to shop for them, since they have transformed to fashion as well as function.
