Friday Favorites: Solo Travel, Wedding Etiquette and Baking With Mom

A few posts that grabbed my attention this week.

The Tony nominations came out.  We've already seen "Hamilton" - good thing since it may take a few years to get our hands on tickets to see it again - but need to catch up on few of the other nominated shows. Tonight, we are going to see "Bright Star" - a new musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell that picked up five nominations.  Here's a link to one of the beautiful songs we look forward to hearing.

Refinery 29's guide to being the ideal wedding guest is a good refresher as wedding season approaches.  Some of these should be obvious, but it never hurts to be reminded.  Confession:  I recently made one of these faux pas, forgetting to send the RSVP to my cousin's wedding because the invite was in my in box to remind me to send the gift.  We sent the gift really early - but then I forgot to RSVP.  Oops.

Love love LOVE this article on solo travel from A Cup of Jo.  While I travel regularly for work - and love any holiday that Scott and I can take - the confidence and self-discovery I got from traveling abroad in college are priceless.

Maybe this tutorial on segmenting oranges and grapefruits from The Pioneer Woman will keep me from making a ridiculous mess in the kitchen.

And speaking of the kitchen - funny how so many memories of mothers revolve around cooking and baking.  As someone who loves baking cookies, I totally identify with this post on baking cookies with mom from the fashion blog Man Repeller

Have a lovely weekend - and Happy Mother's Day to my mother-in-law, sisters-in-law all of the moms out there!
